the importance of chairs...

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaah chairs. Obsessed with them! I also can't get enough of coffee tables, pottery, hardware-OK, back to chairs. Since my home is a very cozy (a.k.a. very tiny) 1,200 sf., I can't get as chair happy as I would like. The chair on the right is part of a pair that I bought years ago. I since have had them reupholstered and the wood stained a much darker color than the faded, blonde wood it came with. The thing about chairs for me is that they sometimes seem to have a sense of humor and movement. It's like their legs can actually help them "take off" for a bit and go on an adventure. This chair makes me feel that way. I think it's lacking the sense of humor, but definitely ready for a stroll. Not sure where it would go, but I would definitely follow it and see where it leads me. Keep your eye on your chairs. I'm just saying...

I find that chairs are more flexible than sofas and love seats. Put 4 upholstered chairs around a coffe table, in front of the fireplace, and you've got a cozy conversation area. Try doing that with a clunky old sofa and love seat.

Much of design very rarely works for disabled indviduals.....it is a nightmare trying to dust objects that easily break, reaching them.....getting in and out of wheelchair to chair ...couches....there is no comfortable for wheelchair users....at least I haven`t found any.....nancy

Hi Angelo, I came by to check out your blog. My RMS friend, frenchkilt, said our styles were similar, and that I would love what I see here. Each and every one of your posts, captured my attention. And then I see your chair post! I am a chair freak and lamp freak too. I find them in hidden places around town. I've found that my style and taste hasn't caught on yet, in my area, so there is pleanty out there. I just downsized my "stock" of chairs, but I hate to get rid of any of them. I'll keep checking back to see what you find next! Some of my "finds" are posted on RMS under "kiakai"

lol@ "take off and go on an adventure", I'm wondering if that's before or after the wine.
