lamp love...

I have always admired those that can find a style and really stick with it. You know, make it feel like it's part of their personality. It's as if they invented that style because they just wear it so well. From their clothes to their home, everything just feels connected and well matched. I have never been able to do that. My tastes run the gamut. That's why when friends look for some kind of cohesive, balanced style (especially when it comes to my lamp choices) in my home and in my personal style, they think I suffer from a bit of personality disorder. I just can't commit to one style---that may be one of the most important things to think about when working on your own home---be honest about who you are and how you want to live, NOT what you think may be the "right way" to design. There are so many beautiful and inspiring styles that I come across all the time, but that doesn't necessarily mean it would work for me on a daily basis. It used to be (early in my designing career when I was a wee bit design geek) that I felt I was a bit out of place since nothing seemed to "match." I was able to do it for clients that really wanted and needed to live like that, but no matter how much I tried, I couldn't get that look for my own home. Well, I think you see where this is going. I'm NOT that guy, so I made peace with the guy I am and found that there's so much design goodness out there......go find it!

Haha... Your not alone... I think we just like what we like and then we find a way to make it work. Besides those lamps are not your regular lamps... they are like art. I love them all!
