baxter & furniture moving...

photos: swell-space/iphone

Baxter got a bunch of new toys for Christmas.

He has an uncanny way of knowing what gifts are his and when he's told it's time to open them, he goes right for his gifts and starts ripping at the paper and boxes.

He spent the next 2 hours playing with them and then went to bed.  While he was sleeping, I was rearranging the furniture and changing up the art wall.  I got some new art as gifts from my brother so it was time to find room for it and of course that created a whole domino effect of change in the living room.  Even the tree wasn't safe.

Good times.

Continue to celebrate!

P.S. The 2 framed prints (in close-up) are from Kohlman-Quinn and the print of the berries and thatched roof home is by Japanese artist Tanaka Ryohei.

My dog almost does the same thing. She's not as smart as Baxter, but close. Also, it so TRUE! You get 1 thing and it throws everything off. You have to rearrange everything. Your home is so lovely and I think it's greta you are constantly changing it to reflect your life.

I am a big fan of your work. Great design style that doesn't see to follow a cookie cutter pattern like most designers.

OOOOH! I LOVE your art wall. I want an art wall but don't have the courage to buy art and then I'm even more of a chicken when it comes to hanging it. I love that you covered the wall and it all works. Just beautiful.

Baxter is too cute!

Baxter is the best! The two of you make quite a team.
Beautiful art wall.

Oh yeah, where did you get those chairs? They are gorgeous. Is that end table a original or reproduction?
I love your taste.

Baxter is one smart poochie. Does he help with the rearranging of your rooms?

I love your wall art. I wish I had the knack of putting one together that you do!

Very inspiring. Now I have to get some rt and start playing around with hanging it.

I have never been able to hang pictures. It always feels wrong wether it's a single piece of art work or if I'm attempting a whole wall. Maybe sometime in the future you can speak to that.

Or just write a book in your spare time. Please.

Get Baxter to write the book. You can dictate it to him. I don't know what his fees are, but it might be worth it.

The art wall looks spectacular. Will you ever let a magazine shoot your whole home or is that too invasive?

I really love the art. The wall is beautiful. Do you rotate the art? is there more than you can fit on the wall? How do you decide what to hang and make it look so good even though it's all so different? Does Baxter help?

I'm a fan!

So happy to have found you here. I think your style is amazing.

Is there a way I can buy some of the stuff you use? Do you have your own line of stuff? Furniture, art, accessories? I just think your aesthetic is so stylish yet real.

Now that you seem to have your marching orders (a book and a furniture line) it looks like '09 is pretty much planned out for you. He-He!

Whatever the New Year brings, I hope it's exactly what you want it to be. I too am a big fan of you and your work.

The prints are beautiful and your use of them on your art wall is really gorgeous. I love your home, from the shots I've seen. Your kitchen and outdoor rooms are simply stunning!

Love your decorating style, and just to prove that your decorating principles work (get as many people together as you can to completely transform a space in one day) take a look at the following:

http://web.me.com/graphicsgoddess1/Site/Christi.html

We did a makeover for a friend's 50th birthday. It was supposed to be just the kitchen/breakfast area, but spilled over to the den, formal living and formal dining rooms! We did all of the work with 10 friends, 2 husbands and 9 hours!

Sounds like you and Baxter had quite a Christmas. Your wall looks amazing, but your lamp is really catching my eye. Any chance of a closeup? :)

Hi "This is Me..."

The lamp base was bought from Z-Gallerie:

And I changed out the lamp shade with one that I bought from: www.wshome.com that is square and gray silk.

Best,
Angelo
