modern rustic...

Toby & Jeff are from the great state of Texas!

They both love the idea of a rustic, comfortable, ranch style that feels modern and a bit more sophisticated....just a bit, nothing too fancy.

They were incredible to work with.  If you couldn't tell in this episode, let me tell you now, they are fun, energetic, casual and have a fantastic sense of style that doesn't take itself or themselves, too seriously.  I had a blast working with them!

Love you guys!

They found inspiration to help them get on the style track:

-Bob & Eliza have a very rustic and Texan style, stone fireplace facade and both Toby & Jeff would like to go that route.  Bob & Eliza were so generous with their inspiration and even sent a gift to Toby & Jeff made from the native, natural stone that they used for their fireplace.  How cool is that?!

-Ron & Kevon's home inspired them to think about darker flooring and possible modern styling.  Ron & Kevon have a stunning, rustic, yet very contemporary space.

-Brad & Aaron's wall of sheers are close to what Toby & Jeff are looking for.  They want something a bit less sheer and more coverage.  Brad & Aaron have done an amazing job with their room.

The team of Jared, Danny, Jen, Rupert, Ruth, Ron & Ivana made all this happen with their hard work and dedication to the job!

PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! do not ever leave the TV landscape. I know, it can be challenging (I work in TV and it sucks) but you are a breath of fresh air--no pretense, no posing, no attitude. You are the best!

Just saw the show. It was wonderful and the couple was just so sweet and they definitely seemed like fun. Thank you for posting all this info and resources list. If you are doing this yourself and not an assistant, you must seriously have no life and are guaranteed wild success!

I love your "animatronics" dance! Very cute! Knowing that you make such a huge positive impact on the homeowners and also influence everyone else to take risks, how do you not get a massive swelled head? How do you keep grounded? Also, do you answer these posts or do you have an assistant?

Hope your Season is awesome!

Jessie-

HA! I already have a disproportionate, very large, head...I can't afford to have it get any bigger. I can't find hats that fit due to by fat noggin, so it keeps me grounded.

I really do love being creative and if I can do it in a way that impacts the people I am working with or even the folks that watch the show, well, that's just gravy.

I answer these posts.

Hope your Season is awesome as well.

I really loved this fireplace. You know Angelo, I used to live is Austin for appox 6 years. That fireplace really captured Texan style and the room feels like a very comfortable yet sophisticated texas room. I love your enthusiasm, your connection to the homeowner's and just your overall "love of the game!"

Keep inspiring us--one viewer at a time till you take over the world!

I love your show. That fireplace turned out beautifully. Also, there weren't enough shots of that mirror nook in the reveal, it's gorgeous.

Loved the transformation Angelo. The coffee table in particular caught my eye as when my dtr. was single and we were decorating her first home, she required some sofa end tables. As she was on a budget 'we' made them. We used
3/4" angle iron, gave it an antique rust finish and for the two tiers we added (polyutherane) pine. Her decor was Southwestern at that time.
