Vegas was a whirlwind and sleep is never an option but that is more than OK when you're doing what you love.
The reason for being there was to attend the Las Vegas Home Expo where many vendors show their wares to retailers. There was too much good stuff everywhere. I felt like I was at a design geek convention, though most design enthusiasts are able to be cool and hip...
...I can't even do that when I try.
So, why was I there beyond just wanting to see what's new?
I was announcing the premiere of my own upholstered furniture line. This is something I have fantasized about since the first time I dragged a discarded chair on a curb and then refinished and reupholstered it myself using remnant fabrics that I had been collecting. I always wanted to find a way to be able to merge my love of design & making stuff with affordability & ease.
This summer (cue the movie announcer voice guy..."In a world where great design seems to cost too much...") my line will be making it's debut across the country. There is more news to come as all things are finalized. I will keep you posted on details as they are available for press.
Above is the "official" first photo I took with my iphone of one of the prototype pieces. This chair will also come with a throw pillow in an accent color, along with being available in other fabrics, colors, pattern choices and in leather.
It will retail for appox $299.
Professional photography will be happening in about 6 weeks when all the pieces in the first roll out are available.
That's all I got for now.
