sleep on it...

$699

My brother sleeps on my SPENCER sofa (in Lotus Green micro-suede).

Let me explain.

When we were doing the photo shoot for all the pieces in the angelo:HOME collection (31 in all) I gave each one away. Everyone that was part of the shoot or came to visit could choose whatever they wanted. It didn't even have to be just one piece. Everyone was very democratic about the process and they had discussions amongst themselves as to who really wants what in order to not take away something that someone else could really use.
Pretty proud of my peeps.

My brother took this couch (among some other pieces that coordinate well with it).
He tends to be a night owl and spend a lot of time watching TV, reading and working in his living room on the couch. He was crashed on it all night on several occasions even though he is the proud owner of a bedroom and a King bed at his house.

The first time he told me he did that, my first question--"How was the all night comfort level?"
"Incredible..." he replied and it's been that ever since.

I have to hand it to Tom Erdman. He's my manufacturing partner. His job is to make sure that whatever I design can UPS--so that you don't pay a lot for shipping, so that the furniture gets to you faster, AND that each piece passes the butt test. Sofas are places where you lounge, eat, read and work on. You need to feel comfortable and it needs to last. We kept going back and forth on comfort and quality to get it just right. Tom was a man obsessed and I admire that. The finished product is a sofa that apparently you can sleep on. I prefer my brother would use his bed, but that's just me being the older brother.

I can't get over these looks and prices. I want to sleep on this sofa too. You know what I really love about your stuff, besides the looks, prices and that it's you? The fact that these are stand alone pieces that can work with almost any style or you can also build a room with them and have them not look like a typical set. Does that make sense? Anyway, loving the looks.

Really like the look of this couch. It's the perfect sofa for either your leather chairs or some of the ones with the great patterns. Like your style.

FADE IN:

INT. – SURMELIS LIVING ROOM – NIGHT

ANGELO SURMELIS IS SITTING ON A SPENSER SOFA. THE ROOM IS ILLUMINATED ONLY BY CANDLES ON SIDE TABLES LEFT AND RIGHT. HE IS BAREFOOT, WEARING A BLACK SILK ROBE FALLING OPEN AT THE CHEST. HIS RIGHT ARM RESTS ON THE BACK OF THE SOFA. HE SPEAKS DIRECTLY TO THE CAMERA, QUIETLY, SENSUALLY.

ANGELO
(In GREEK, subtitles in English appear) When I designed this furniture, I had

you in mind. The colors, the fabrics, the dimensions, everything.

OS: Scratching noise.

ANGELO
(Still in Greek with English subtitles) It had to be perfect, because it was for you. And I wanted it to last a long, long time.

OS: Scratching noise, louder.

(ANGELO BREAKS CHARACTER, LOOKS LEFT)

(In English) Can you guys hear that scratching?

CAMERA PULLS BACK, PANS RIGHT TO REVEAL THAT THE ROOM IS PACKED FLOOR TO CEILING WITH CAMERA CREW AND STAFF. SEVERAL PEOPLE STAND ON CHAIRS WITH CLIPBOARDS. ONE KNEELS WITH A MICROPHONE HELD OUT. ONE IS DRINKING COFFEE. THE CAMERA MOVES INTO THE ADJOINING ROOM TO BELOW THE DINING TABLE. BAXTER IS TRYING TO GET A TREAT OUT FROM UNDER A CHAIR LEG, HE SCRATCHES DESPERATELY ON THE WOOD FLOOR AND THE TREAT POPS OUT. HE EATS IT, LOOKS UP INTO THE CAMERA, WAGS HIS TAIL.

DIRECTOR (OS)
(laughs) I was going to leave it in there…okay, okay…take two. Ready? Action!

Looks like someone is directing a commercial already. LOL!

I LOVE this couch. Can't wait. You have done a truly beautiful job with this line. Kudos.

I think maybe I can do the Bogart and add this couch. Angelo, you are making things easy for me. Can't wait. Looking forward to seeing more. Will there be lighting, rugs, coffee tables. Sorry, but I just bought my first house, townhouse actually, and I need stuff. LOL.

One might pay to see a commercial like that. Tastefully done of course heh

LOL! I love the "commercial." Angelo, you should show more skin, tastefully of course. *WINK*

On another note. I really love this sofa. It does look very comfortable and the price, style is perfect. I think we're getting a new "Angelo Living Room"

I would like to live in that living room photo and the one in your blog header. These photos, rooms, styling is gorgeous. I never would of ever considered a yellow & white floral couch, but I have to say-the one in the header photo is calling my name. I'm torn between that one and the solid green on this blog entry. You're making choosing furniture tough and fun all at the same time!

I agree with Sandra. How do I get to live in that living room? Gorgeous couch and your touch is right on.

Yes, it's true. I want to live in that room as well. This couch and price are so cool!

This is sooo our next sofa. My husband ends up sleeping on the sofa waaaay too often. (Mind you, NOT because I kick him there, but because he is watching TV and falls asleep there all night!)
