pumpkins...

The images below were done by a fellow blogger, Kathy Barlow (HomeWorkshop), & her nine year old daughter--they sent them to me via twitter

Are you ready for Halloween? Are you even thinking about Thanksgiving? I am not ready BUT I am definitely thinking about both.

Here in Los Angeles it has been gray, cool & rainy the past few days. The kind of weather that puts me in the Fall mood but has my Los Angeles friends feeling oh-so blue. They are not having it. Well, fret not Southern Cali sun & heat lovers---we are going back to the 90's this weekend. I on the other hand have been forcing the Autumn chill by cooking soups and wearing blazers. Not very popular or cool with my Hollywood peeps.

SO, I am going EAST! Leaving tomorrow for High Point, NC for the Home Show where I will be debuting my new bedroom furniture line with MODUS furniture as well as previewing my bedding line with HALLMART. Totally excited, nervous and thrilled to be a part of this. Then it's off to Atlanta, NYC, Wisconsin & Minneapolis for work in the weeks to follow. I may be back home just in time for Halloween before heading out again and if so---I may dash out and pick up some pumpkins to carve or even draw on. I'll share pics if I do.

How do you get ready for Fall? Are pumpkins and/or other elements/vegetables involved in the festivities? Fall rituals? Favorite Fall foods? OR, is it in the 90's where you are as well?

Angelo I love this post those pumpkins are Beautiful. It gave me some ideas forsure. I am mainly looking forward to Christmas I haven't had one in over 5 years I am so determined no matter what Christmas will return to my home this year even if it is just a tree in a corner. The one Holiday I that Love so much been stripped away from me for so many years. I am going to ask you this question that I often ask people, do you remember when Christmas had a smell? I love fall I do set a few pumpkins out on my front porch and maybe bake pumpkin muffins and breads. But, I mainly love the colors of the season changing.
Peace and Many Blessings to You

Lovely pumpkins Angelo! It's that time of year isn't it. Halloween for me is about the children! It's so much fun to bedazzle them with tricks, treats and spooky pumpkins! Enjoy your trip back east where Fall is certainly in the air!

The plan was to carve. The photos are definitely inspiring to try something different. We'll see what happens. BTW, warm here in Fla.

I love your blog! Have fun on your travels and hopefully you'll get some fall-like weather in the places you're visiting. Sounds like you might. Cannot wait to see the rest of your line.

I'm in the market for a new bedroom and bedding. I have 2 of your Grant chairs in the green floral fabric and I LOVE them SO MUCH! Gorgeous.

pumpkins and gourds and squash...three great reasons to love fall and halloween and thanksgiving...i am enamored with some of the delightful artwork you have shown.

the display on our front step looks quite lovely...and all of them were 'volunteer' pumpkins from last year! score.

happy fall and safe travels.

Got nasty cold just this week. Thinking about some of those purply cabbage plants that stay alive until December.

Definitely looking forward to finally tasting the Culver's fish sandwich. I'm going to be in Menomonee Falls, WI. The dates haven't been set yet (sometime in Nov). It's work related.

LOL Angelo, yeah it would have to be for work to be in "the Falls".

Milwaukee would be a nice vacay (of course our weather bites right now).......hopefully you can see some great spots if you are not working too hard.

You will have a bit of a drive(30 minutes tops) to get to Culver's so I say get some cheese curds too while you are at it!

Have a great night,
Jill
