fall walk 2...

There are many reasons to love New York and for me, one of the biggest is how quickly and easily the city can change from block to block.

Also, for a place that sometimes gets described as
"bustling and crowded" there are so many areas to get lost in solitude.

It was a pretty awesome weekend in NYC. The weather was perfect and the courtyard (above) to a church in the West Village was unbelievably quiet in the midst of much street hoopla.
People were everywhere enjoying the sidewalk cafes for brunch, street markets and early halloween festivals seemed to be on every street corner. The inevitable winter days are sneaking around the corner and everyone is trying to squeeze in as much pleasant outdoor time as possible. You can almost feel people trying to stretch days out like these. I'm right there with them, stretching as much as I can. Good times.

Good looking graffiti on my travels. It was on the side of a building in a private garden--stuck my hand and phone through the fence to photograph. I wanted a closer look, but alas-not today.

Happy Monday Kids!

Glad to see you're finding hidden surprises in NYC. I had the priviledge of living in Chelsea for a short time in 92, worked at McCall's magazine as an intern, as part of my non-trad art degree. Every weekend I walked different areas of the city and was pleased to see so many little gardens and parks (even in winter). I especially liked the Cloisters; check it out if you have time.

I still can't believe these are from a phone.

Hasn't the weather been incredible lately?
