boring brown...

The NEW angelo:HOME accent furniture line will be avail in MAY.

Brown isn't boring, it's all about the way you use it.

UPS made the phrase, "What can Brown do for You?" famous.

Well, in this case, brown can not only be a great foundation to the rest of your design vision.  It can also add the softness of cut velvet, the durability of recycled leather, the detail of nail head trim, all at a great price and it's UPSable. Full circle moment.

Adding almost any other color can work as an accent with a foundation of browns and tans. Anything from an earthy moss green, a pale yellow, to a burst of orange, can be one of the easiest ways to create a space that feels like it was perfectly designed. Layering in some texture, wether it's in your rug, drapes or art work, will make your room feel interesting. Then, adding a few wood elements can pull the whole look together.

Making your home reflect your style, but more importantly, your LIFEstyle, can be easy, fun and affordable. I love the way my home feels, I really want you to love your's as well.

If you have any questions on how to make sense of it all in your home, wether you're using what you have and need to make it work the best way possible, or adding a few new pieces and don't know how, or starting from scratch and feel overwhelmed, ask me HERE.

Sending pics of your room, what your style/design goal is, and any other info you feel can help you get to where you want to be, is helpful for me to give you the best advice possible for YOUR perfect room.

I'm a big fan of brown. So much so that I now have to stop myself from buying things that are brown. It's just so delightfully warm and earthy and comforting in all its many hues. I think my affinity is also partly driven by food, since golden brown is so often the desired end result of many dishes. Like cookies. And bread. LIke your Baxter chair in Cardigan Autumn brown. The ottoman looks like a little loaf of bread. To me. I might be alone on that.

Beige is boring, but brown is so useful and versatile. The challenge comes in making it not look like a 1970s rehash.

Strangely, I used to hate brown. That 70's thing again. Had two chocolate brown chairs from my MIL that were very expensive and I sold them--they were very uncomfortable despite the famous name atttached to them.

But, being a brown-eyed, brown-haired girl, I had to learn to embrace brown. Tobacco Brown is my fave. And Chesnut.

Even though I shouldn't, I'll take a rich, fudgy brownie, too.
