color block it:
Grape Soda may not be the best thing for me to be drinking, there are worse beverages, but I can't resist it's deliciousness. Plus, the color has me hooked.

Everywhere from it's royal roots, our very own film royalty (Elizabeth Taylor), Prince's Rain O' Purple, to Willy Wonka's suit, and poor grape loving Violet Beauregarde's unfortunate fate---purple is a color you cannot ignore.

It won't let you and either will I.

There are so many various tones that are under the purple banner, that I often scratch my head when I hear someone tell me they don't care for it.

Wether you're going full-on neon grape, a more subtle heather, or a greyish/muted hue, your room will never be the same. In a good way.

One of the best ways to see some of the choices available, is to go to your favorite paint store. Check out the purple color chip section. I dare you to not find a hue that you like. As a mater of fact, check out Benjamin Moore's Purple color palette: PURPLE

From what look like blue, to chocolaty brown, I think you'll agree that purple can be pretty versatile.

A few season's ago it was the color of the moment in the interior design world. Well, anything of the moment is filled with shenanigans.

Purple is not a trend. It's a tried and true classic and we need more of it--Minus the blowing up like a giant blueberry. Though, after Willy Wonka had Violet juiced she went back to her normal size--still blue and purple, but "normal." -angelo

I was getting panicked that purple wasn’t going to get “color blocked”! I. LOVE. PURPLE. Love it! I have in my wardrobe, home accessories, and, at one time, various walls of my home. My attachment has, at times, worried me. I find it can calm as well as energize depending on context.

Thank you 1Mill times for focusing on regal, exceptional, wonderful PURPLE.

PS. How does the day-to-day reality of operating angel:HOME compare to how you imagined the experience to be in your pre-planning/visualization phase(s)?

Natalie B.- I would never forget purple! You are correct, it can energize or calm, depending on the context. It is an awesome color.

As far as your question about the reality of the day-to-day of angelo:HOME--well, it is absolutely nothing like I imagined it to be. It's much more challenging--therefore, more rewarding.

Yay, purple!

A lovely selection of images, as ever. I'm glad that you use purple in your lifen And the M&M at the end made me laugh.

My bathroom is the blue-y lavender of the set of china you used here. People thought I was nuts the first time they saw it, but there's a lot of white in there to tone it down. The guy at the paint store thought I should use the rest of the gallon to paint my foyer. Um, no. And not just because I don't have a foyer.

But now I'm thinking I should repaint the color of the dining room you chose here. That'd be fun!

I have been waiting for purple day! I love, love, love your Amethyst paisley! It's the perfect neutral!

I could gush about purple all day, but I won't. Thank you for doing purple day.
