color block it:
I like it. A lot.

It's one of those colors that can change a room instantly.

Now, I've been in spaces where the yellow can get a bit too much for my tastes, but hey---great design is personal.

I prefer the color to make an unexpected appearance, and be partnered with plenty of contrast and earthiness.

Also, it's the perfect time of year to be thinking about a sunny color.

You make yellow look so good--I'm not a fan of yellow. I think I may have been exposed to too much Harvest Gold in the 70's. I read it was an angry color, too. True.

I do have a beautiful watercolor of yellow tulips painted by my husband's aunt--the only sunny yellow in our home.

Denise- I totally understand. Yellow was not allowed in our home when I was a kid--it was thought to be the color of jealousy. I know! Oddness abounded. It's probably one of the reasons that I am not against any color---context, hue and surroundings can make anything work.

I like that the final image is of lemon bars.

Perhaps I've given too much power to the color of yellow--I still won't wear it, but I'll consider decorating with it. I'll never turn down lemonade or lemon bars.

Do designers realize they're psychotherapists, too? :)

Denise- I have always said that designing is only 20% of what I do for clients---the other 80% is being a "space psychotherapist." It makes sense...our homes are very emotional and personal places.
