where i read giveaway...

When I sit down to read a book, I don't take the place I choose to read lightly.

Space and the way it makes us feel is kind of a big deal in my world.

It's one of the major reasons why I do what I do.

Designing rooms and the things we use in them is a really personal experience. Everything we see, touch and sit on gives us a memory, a feeling--even if we are not aware of it in the moment.

Everything is designed...from the cup we carry, to the car door handle we use, to the book we hold.

Design affects the way we feel and see the world. Design helps us tell our story.

Books have a very similar effect. They can transform our view. Our feelings. They are the ultimate story tellers.

Jennifer Niven's book, All The Bright Places, is one of those books that beautifully takes us into the lives of two people who allow us to see ourselves and the world in a new and lovelier way. The story impacts us deeply and with great lasting meaning. It's personal. It's intimate. It's transformative. That's what great art does.

So, it's important for me to be able to get comfortable in a room, a chair, a sofa that makes me feel like it's safe to wander into the pages of a new story.

I read in my living room. The natural light, in the day time, is perfect. And in the evening, the ambient light is calm and warm. The room feels soothing and not too overwhelming. Plus, it's filled with personal items that make me feel like I'm home.

Jennifer, along with being a brilliant writer, is my best friend and I'm proud to have partnered with her to be a part of this giveaway. Because where you read is just as important as where you read.

First Prize is an angelo:HOME Chair and an autographed copy of Jennifer Niven's gorgeous book, All The Bright Places...along with some ATBP swag!

Best of luck to all of you that enter and if you haven't had a chance to check out Jennifer's book, please find your perfect spot and settle in for a glorious journey. It will not disappoint.

Where do you read?

Favorite places to read are the back patio, the bathtub or the couch in the living room if no one else is home!

I like to read on airplanes to pass the time as well as out on the patio. I'm excited to have my new house that will have a reading den because I can go in there to read. I hope to fill my house with furniture from Angelo Home!

I usually read lying across my bed. I gave up my favorite chair when I moved back here when my husband died. I miss my chair, it was the perfect chair, and I don't have that anymore.
